Alice Clark talks with the girls.....about teepees?
"The creativity isn’t just in the music; the band is also creative when it comes to building things to be creative in.
“There’s a story behind pre-production, where Leisha, who’s really creative, said” – Grey puts on a nasal, high-pitched voice – “‘Cam! Let’s…’ I’m sorry, I always make the high voice when I talk as her. She’s like, ‘We need to make a vocal booth to work in, to cut all the vocals.’ I always cut everything before we take it to the producer, just to get ideas down. And Leisha ended up building a tepee! This really bizarre tepee that was really hard to get in and out of, so once I was in I couldn’t leave. I had to have a telephone in there and a drink and some food, just because I never got out. And Al Clay, the guy that actually produced the record, came over and he saw our set up. He said, ‘I’m sorry girls, you’re not going to do vocals in a tepee.’
“He totally shut down our tepee idea and we had to go into a real studio and cut all the vocals. We were really bummed out. But you should’ve seen that thing, it was pretty rad.”

Thanks for providing that link Nat...I couldn't find that teepee anywhere. It is rather creative, but how could Leish possibly think that they could record in there..lolol. I kinda agree with Al now that I see the teepee--a recording studio is much better. I don't know why I thought that Nina would have be the one behind the teepee idea...I bet she helped her beloved Leisha with the idea though. Their both very creative...I love it. :)
Yeah I agree Speedy, it def resembles something from the Free City Supershop! :)
sorry, totally off topic but just wanted to share these with you all.. Its a (bizarre!) short film from 1999ish called Sleeping Beauties and Leisha appears in it as well as Clea Duvall. Its poor quality but you can just about make Leisha out as one of the band members... if anyone can find better quality clips then let me know :)

That is so incredibly random... It is amazing! Life is so boring without randomness!! I have a lot of respect for someone who does stuff like that. Makes me smile! XD
thats totally awesome! makes m think of when i use to make forts out of blankets and stuff as a kid.
HaHa..The teepee looks really cool though:)
yeah J School, I was into the blanket forts too. something tells me leisha was too, haha!
I was into sofa cushions and blanket forts...defending Barbie from the cabbage patch giants behind the barriers...lol t.m.i. brings back memories:)
The teepee looks like fun I wouldn't mind having one of my own.
I'm gonna ask Leisha does she still have it up. It's probably at the FreeCity Supershop. :)
