I can't make heads nor tails of it. I have listed the spoilers for S6 in "My Comments", so don't read if you do not want to be spoiled. The authenticity of the spoilers remains to be validated. But they seem pretty reasonable. Hell--I don't know...Let me know what you guys think when you read it. EP 1 seems to pick up right where it left off, and EP 8 could be legit. All I know is---the future of my beloved Talice is questionable. :(

"Indie rock is genre of alternative rock that primarily exists in the independent underground music scene. It primarily refers to rock musicians that are or were unsigned, or have signed to independent record labels, rather than major record labels. Indie rock artists place a premium on maintaining complete control of their music and careers, releasing albums on independent record labels (sometimes their own) and relying on touring, word-of-mouth, and airplay on independent or college radio stations for promotion." Now that we have an understanding of how the indie market works, let's talk...

What do you think is the state of indie rock bands today? Is longevity even an option? We all know The Murmurs, which was an American Alternative pop band initially, lasted from 1991-1997, and actually signed to a major record label--MCA Records. Then Heather & Leisha regrouped and formed Gush in 2001 and became an indie rock band in the underground music circuit until they ended their 4 year run in 2005. So combined it's safe to say they lasted 13 or 14 yrs.

But is that enough? Do our girls of have enough ppl behind them and loving their music to sustain them thoughout these formidable yrs? Leisha is not giving up the acting---will that eventually cause a strain on the band? Talk to me...

Typecasting

I don't care if Gary Coleman won an Oscar for a movie role in Hollywood, he will always be Arnold Drummond to me. Or Kate Moennig, (presumed Gay until proven otherwise) who has played minimal roles in her prospering career, will always be Shane McCutcheon, the insatiable womanizing lesbian of TLW. I mean, can either one of us see Kate kissing or making love to a man in a tv role? Tell the truth...she could be susceptible to typecasting. Perhaps I'm not giving Kate much credit, but think about it--it's been 5 years going on 6 and Kate has left an indelible mark on the LGBT community playing one of the lead roles on a major LGBT cable program. Maybe that's a part Hollywood would only want her to play. As for our beloved Leisha, I don't know if the above holds true for her. Unlike most lesbians on tv who embrace butch roles, Leisha's career has been varied: playing a pregnant woman in La Cucina--CSI--a married straight woman in Greys Anatomy....she's a woman with many faces, and a die-hard feminist. So do you think she could be plagued with the curse....THE CURSE OF BEING TYPECAST?

ALBUM SALES

Does anyone know how the album sales are doing for "Common Reaction"? I've been searching on The Billboard Album Charts, Tower, and Soundscan--nothing. As a matter of fact-the first question I asked Leisha was "How are the album sales going?" I thought it kinda funny when she admittedly said "Oh, I don't know". Unfortunately we may have to contact Nettwork Music, and we all know how allusive they have been since soo many fans haven't received their UHH albums yet. If anyone has a clue as to how the "Common Reaction" album sales are going, please post. When I see the girls in RDU--I'm making it a point to ask them again--maybe Al Clay will be there too. SH..T WE NEED TO KNOW HOW OUR GIRLS ARE DOING!! :-)

EP -VS- ALBUM

Ok there has been some discussion on another board about which CD is preferred over the other. I personally like both Cd's, but I am smitten by the ep of "I See Red". I don't have a preference, but the ep does appeal more to my taste only because I love when Leisha sings the intro on "I See Red", and we hear more of her voice on the ep. Like someone said on the other website, you can also hear the differences in production on the two albums. Al Clay produced "Common Reaction", so it seems more commercialized and mainstream, which is cool too. But on the ep which Cam and Leisha produced, there is a more raw and rocker type of sound. I hear more acoustics...I love it. ;)

THE MYSTERIOUS ONE

Ok enough about Leisha..lolol. Someone posted recently that the blog is awesome...but we need to post more of Camilla 'Grey' Gutierrez, affectionately known as Cam, or the udder half of rock group Uh Huh Her. I'm not going to lie...but initially the only reason I wanted to peep the UHH concert was to get my Leisha fix...INITIALLY! But I went to the show and was instantly smitten by this percussion playing, dark haired mysterious beauty with the bedroom eyes. Awe struck! are the words I would use to describe my reaction when I heard Cam perform for the first time. How dare I not give this musician a chance!!! My thought process was all wrong going into this....THE WOMAN IS TALENTED!!!! Even Leisha admits that Cam is the creative one that spices up the group--always playing with music gadgets and putting songs together. I had the pleasure of meeting Cam twice...they say the second time around is always better. Well it was for me. When I went to LA to see them play...I was determined to get up close and personal...and at the end of the show, Cam greeted me with the warmest smile and gave me the biggest hug a girl could ask for. I didn't want to let go...SERIOUSLY!! I started to ask her out....lololol. But then I thought about the ass whoopin Clea Duvall would give me if she ever found out I was coming on to her girl. So I reneged...lol. Cam is half Spanish and comes from a musical background- I also heard she speaks a little Spanish, which is sooo sexy to me....I LOVE THE LATINAS!!!!
I gotta admit, I have a whole newfound respect and love for that one they call.....Camilla Grey. :)

Have any of you guys ever met Cam? Share your experience with us...Also, can anyone shed some light about her previous band Mellowdrone?

Part II//My Interview With Leisha (snippet)

Speedy: It's the final hurrah for you and the other cast members of TLW. How do feel about the whole finality of this bittersweet moment?
Leisha: We're all ready to move on, but there is that sadness because you're coming to a close and you're not going to see these ppl everyday; we've all become a family. As cliche as that sounds it really does happen, and it is bittersweet...I think it's all hitting us right now.

Speedy: So is it safe to say that the spinoff will be a continuation of TLW?

Leisha: (really shyly)..ohh I can't tell you...I'm not allowed to say.

Speedy: CRAP!!!

Leisha: (laughs)...

Speedy: Did you know that Kanye West has your video on his blog?

Leisha: (surprised)...yeah we just heard that and I saw it..I was soo honored!! And we don't have nooo idea how that happened...(laughs).

Again, this interview is one of my favorites....I absolutely loved talking to Leisha one on one :)

"There was a photo shoot and I stood in line like everyone else and when I got to the front to take the picture, she told me to "hurry up" then gave me THE most F....KED UP LOOK, I have ever gotten in my 43 years of living. I had NEVER met her before, I hadn't said or done anything to her but I damn sure didn't appreciate it!!!! And before anyone tries to defend her by saying she was probably "tired" the shoot had just begun and I was the 6th person in line, from the left! And lastly, there is a poster on the L Word Wiki who gives a similar encounter with her."...excerpt written by slow soulz from the sho boards.
Have any of you guys had a bad experience meeting Leisha--if you were lucky enough to meet her at one of her concerts or any other event? Slowsoulz apparently had a unpleasant experience with Miss Hailey. Of course there are two sides to each story, but I can't think of any reason why Leisha would be that rude. Everybody has their bad days, and maybe this was one of those bad days for Leisha....who knows. I know one thing-I wouldn't want to see Leisha's bad side....that would break my heart and I'll be forever scorned. Her career is very demanding and arduous--and sometimes that can take a tole on a person. Hopefully none of us will ever encounter alter-ego Leisha.... :)

How would you guys feel if you encountered Leisha in a bad mood and she was somewhat rude to you? Would you still be her #1 fan or would you chalk it up as her having a bad day?

The Price You Pay//For The Life You Choose

Leisha has made it known on occasion that she sometimes works too much and too hard. You'd think that being away from home so much would leave little time for a home life, family, friends, or a relationship. But according to Hailey, it works for her---or does it? After many weeks or months away from each other, it seems Leisha and Nina play the reconnection game quite often. Sometimes relationships that require you to be away from your partner for extensive periods at a time, are the most vulnerable to fail. But there are success stories, quite a few actually. Leisha went through it with her previous relationship-except she was the one who was home more than kd....and she's been with Nina now for several years...and counting. But I did detect some sadness and longing when she talked about missing home. She has her moments...her voice a bit sullen. So you guys tell me...is it worth it? Is being what you are worth sacrificing being who you are?

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS...LOVING LEISHA FOREVER!!!!! Well I have been keeping this a secret for a long time now, but I can't keep you guys in the dark any longer. Kaye is the only one that has known about my little project for awhile now; of course, she's my blog partner.... I also write for a magazine based here in the Atlanta area, and I have been working on getting an interview with Leisha for two months. Well my two-month wait finally paid off----I spoke with Leisha today on the phone for about 15 min. Of course I cannot reveal all of the interview until the magazine comes out in December, but I will share a little of what she had to say....

Speedy: Are you guys gonna continue touring after you start filming for the spinoff?
Leisha: Yeah-Well I'm gonna take (pauses a little) ..a vacation..(laughs).
Speedy: A well deserved a vacation, I guess.
Leisha: Yeah--A then we'll probably start back up in Jan, Feb or Mar. But we have to get to Europe in because that was post-poned...so we definitely want to go over there. I think Australia and Japan also are on the agenda...
Speedy: Wow..those sound like two and three month tours...
Leisha: They can be..but they can really push it..you'd be surprised (giggles).

I can't give too much away folks---gotta save some material for the mag...heh heh.

Who's The Lead?

Is it Cam or Leisha--or maybe both?
You decide. Is it safe to say that we hear more of Cam singing lead on most of the songs? Cam has a beautiful voice, but I really like Leisha's voice too, and would like to hear her sing lead more often. Maybe on their sophomore project we'll get to hear her blow out some solo tunes. As a matter of fact--did you guys know that there are two versions of the song "I See Red", Leisha starts the lead on one of them and Cam sings lead on the other...Just FYI. Have you noticed the differences in their voices?

Now that Leisha has officially been cast as the L Word spinoff's person of interest, what does that mean for the storyline of Tasha and Alice. Obviously this is the question that has been on everyones mind since hearing of Leisha's starring role. J school said.."if Tasha is still a part of Alice's life at the end of season six (and season five kind worries me on that), then there is a very good possibility that Tasha will be a regular cast member." That would make perfect sense, but so far no one has mentioned Rose Rollins co-starring with Leisha for the spinoff. Could this be the beginning of the end for Tasha and Alice? If Leisha is the lone survivor picked from the fruit of TLW to carry on what is now a television phenomenon, then it only means that our beloved couple will break up in S6, and all our Talice fans will be left with nothing but tears on their pillows. Lets analyze the situation...Gimme some feedback.

Well I'm sure many of you have been looking at the democratic & republican conventions, and by this time you have figured out who is more qualified to be the next leader of our country. Neither candidate {McCain/Obama} has said formerly that they support gay marriage or civil unions between same sex couples. In fact, both are opposed to it. So where does that leave us? I think it's a fair statement that most ppl in the LGBT community are democrats and will probably vote on the Obama ticket...but what about Leisha? Who do you think will win her vote? Does she seem the GOP type? I dunno..I'd like to think she would vote for the Big "O"...but you never know. Rose Rollins made it known that Obama is the only choice for change. What do you guys think? Is Leisha Republican or Democrat?
