*****CAN'T BE HAPPY ALL THE TIME******

"There was a photo shoot and I stood in line like everyone else and when I got to the front to take the picture, she told me to "hurry up" then gave me THE most F....KED UP LOOK, I have ever gotten in my 43 years of living. I had NEVER met her before, I hadn't said or done anything to her but I damn sure didn't appreciate it!!!! And before anyone tries to defend her by saying she was probably "tired" the shoot had just begun and I was the 6th person in line, from the left! And lastly, there is a poster on the L Word Wiki who gives a similar encounter with her."...excerpt written by slow soulz from the sho boards.
Have any of you guys had a bad experience meeting Leisha--if you were lucky enough to meet her at one of her concerts or any other event? Slowsoulz apparently had a unpleasant experience with Miss Hailey. Of course there are two sides to each story, but I can't think of any reason why Leisha would be that rude. Everybody has their bad days, and maybe this was one of those bad days for Leisha....who knows. I know one thing-I wouldn't want to see Leisha's bad side....that would break my heart and I'll be forever scorned. Her career is very demanding and arduous--and sometimes that can take a tole on a person. Hopefully none of us will ever encounter alter-ego Leisha.... :)

How would you guys feel if you encountered Leisha in a bad mood and she was somewhat rude to you? Would you still be her #1 fan or would you chalk it up as her having a bad day?

I know I got a bad side--pretty much everybody does...We're only human. I may be in a bad mood some days...but I try not to show it or take it out on other ppl. With celebrities--they pretty much have to be cordial and appear seemingly affable when in the public eye; afterall--WE PAY THEIR SALARIES!!! Think about it...if they display a negative demeanor towards their fans--what do you think will happen to their careers..ie Whitney & Naomi Campbell. We're a powerful group of ppl. Slowsoulz story is not my story--but it makes me ponder about the many sides to Leisha.

I hope that this fan just met Leisha when she was having "one of those days." But I think that it's ok to ask ourselves if success has gotten to Leisha's head. Success can do crazy things to some people. Unfortunately the few negative things I've read have all been about Leisha and not Cam. Some no doubt is just gossip. But other reports come from fans that met them after a concert. Leisha is talented and beautiful, and she has always looked like a down to earth person. I hope I'm not simply idolizing Leisha so much that I refuse to believe that Leisha is not nice to her fans. I could understand Leisha (or any other artist) getting annoyed with rude fans that bother them at innapropriate times. But this doesn't sound like one of those situations. Hope she was just having a bad day.

I understand that celebrities are *people* too, and are totally allowed to have bad days like everyone else. But in a sense they are not like everyone else. You have people young and old looking at you, watching your every move, and you're their role model and they long to be *just like you*. (not just leisha, any celeb) So I think it is completely unfair that at something like a signing, you are ill or disrespectful towards your fans. It's different from being in the grocery store or out walking and having ppl come up to u- I think rudeness is a little more expected in that type circumstance.
When I met Leisha, she was sweet as could be. She didn't make eye contact, but she insisted that the bodyguard allow her to sign my shirt that we'd gotten made. But if I had an ill run-in with Miss Hailey, I'd definitely be very disappointed and I'd probably not be as big a fan. I'm not gonna lie, her down-to-earthness and seemingly humble personality is part of what attracts me to her! If she's someone different when I meet her, what's the point!?

I don't think it's that big of a deal. Celebrities shouldn't have to live up to our fantasies.

I like very much your blog because you are no afraid to show all the sides from Leisha, the good and the bad.
You have the best fan blog from all the L word fans.
Congratulations.

This is now the second time you have posted a story like this (I believe). I think my reaction would really depend on the celeb in question. I made a point to say this is the second story you've posted because this is only the second bad comment about Leisha that I have heard, reading the comments I see that there have been more, but its not common knowledge. There are some celebs that you hear stories all the time about them being rude to fans (Avril Lavigne for example).

I tend to stray away from the thought that celebs are like everyone else, because I feel they are not, BUT they are human. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has an occasional bad day. We don't know the whole story. While the photo thing may have just started, how do we know that Leisha didn't have an earlier event? Also, I'm not saying that the fan did anything wrong, but we don't know what she did other than what she says she did.

i would hope that Leisha isn't one of those celebs who is mean to her fans. the first time, i would give her the benefit of doubt, but it if happened again, not so much,

This is actually not the first time I read that Leisha is not nice to fans. I also hope that she just had a bad day although I don't think that's a good excuse. As a celeb I too think you should be nice to your fans, they are the one who can make you / break you. Honestly as much as I like Leisha (especially UH HUH HER) I think she can't handle the success she's got!

J-you're right-this is the 2nd time I have posted this because we have soo many new ppl reading our blog and I wanted to get their input...especially about slowsoulz encounter with Leisha. Wow! I didn't know Avril was rude to her fans...((((((((((throwing her cd through the window))))))))))..lolol. Anon #3--you make a very good point about Leisha not being able to handle her career. That is something I have thought about before, and I actually was gonna post it as a topic for conversation. But let's discuss it here....Leisha is a very private person, something she cherishes and has learned to appreciate since being in a relationship with kd. I think she never got used to being in the public eye when she was with kd, and probably still isn't used to it now that she herself is a celebrity in the LGBT community. Although she's been an actor & musician for most of her life---can she ever REALLY get used to her success? Can she handle it? WoW!! I LOVE HOW A CONVERSATION CAN NAVIGATE IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION...lolol.

J-did you make my cd....(sniffles) :(

I agree with ~nitabe~, I think most of Leisha's fans love her down-to-earthness and it's one of the things that sets her appart form other celebs...I don't think anyone is prepared to handle all that success, and I sure hope it doesn't change her humble and sweet personality.

Speedy I must see I disagree with you on the "she never got used to being in the public eye" issue. I think she likes it. Otherwise I can't explain why she does so many things. filming the L-word going on tour, going back to filming and right after filming they will get back on tour and than she's doing the spin-off. she's saying she loves to do both but I think it's way to demanding! For her, for her girlfriend, friends and family!
I don't understand it really. I thought she liked the band so why not continue with that and let the acting rest for a while! So what's her motivation? Succes? Money? or just being as creative as possible?
I don't want to sound to negative, don't get me wrong, I just don't understand her reasons.

This is the first time i've heard anything negative about meeting Leisha.
I've always heard that you should never meet your idol type people because it'll almost always be a let down. I don't know leisha always seem so down-to-earth (as you all stated) and such a sweetheart. But yeah everyone has their bag days, I would just really hate to be that one with the bad experience. It would be sooo sad and disappointing. I don't know we are all capable of it, it happens. I just feel bad for slowsoulz it would be no bueno to have experienced that.

Like many of you stated, I hope that she was having a bad day..but I honestly couldn't imagine her being rude(not saying that the person is lying or anything). She does seem really down to earth to me but I've never met her so I don't know...

P.s. This is me very first post ever on this blog..yay!! lol

About Leisha possibly taking on too much...from what I've read, she is a person that needs to keep busy. She seems to like to do it all and it makes sense that she is taking advantage of every opportunity she is given right now because those opportunities might not come along later. That said, it has to take a toll. I couldn't do it and definitely couldn't do it with a smile ALL the time.

speedy12 said...

Vikki--I think you may have hit the nail on the head. Leisha is a go-getter, and opportunity is one aspect of life that will disappear just as quickly as it came. I don't blame her for taking full advantage...but there is always a price to pay. The price may be the toll it may be taking on Leisha...I can see where something as simple as a smile can be difficult to maintain.

J-I don't know why I thought you were in da ATL...Where do you live?

I met her at the signing table once the concert I attended was over. She was smiling, nonchalantly said "Hello, how are you?" and signed the merch.

Cam was pretty quiet with a quirky smile on her face. I think she might have said "hi" and signed the merch as well. It wasn't to personal able but hell there were like 50 other people in line they had to get too so I was like "aight cool" took my autographs and bounced.

I really don't know what people are expecting when they meet celebs. I mean really they are "just people" with money and fame of course:) but in the end "just people" like you and me. Good days and bad days...none are excusable for being rude tho. So whether or not the story is true, don't judge...hopefully one day you'll just see for yourself.

peace

Ouch. You know at the end of the day we are all human. We all have good and bad days. Please make no mistake, in no way does that qualify and justify any celebrity bein rude to their fans. If you're having a bad day stay at home. If you don't want to be seen, take the back way out. When you are in the public eye, then you are subject to people taking your picture, talking about you, wanting to get your autograph etc. In return, you are (over)paid massive sums of money and receive all the fame&fortune, accolades, that you always wanted. Someone may have been a fan all their life, but if they meet you one day and you have a bad atttitude, that all gets wiped away. That is all they will remember. So these celebs must always be cognizant of the fact that fans are largely responsible for their success and if you treat you fans right they will remain loyal. I personally don't think taking a picture is too much for someone who spent their hard earned money to buy your cd and paraphernalia and travels to meet&greets and concerts spending time and gas to support you. Not to mention all the posting on various websites and blogs to defend your honor, lol. All this to say celebs need to be more appreciative and fans need to be more understanding.

radiolova26 said...

And the above post is no way inferring that I feel Leisha is guilty of what she stands accused of. I wasn't there, so I can't say whether or not it happened.
I also apologize for my lengthy diatribe, lol. I'm just sick of these celebs being unappreciative.

I agree Radio--thus the title of my previous post "The Price You Pay//For The Life You Choose".

"The Life You Choose"..actors, musicians, singers, rock stars, politicians, public figures...etc

"The Price"..fans, public scrutiny, tabloids, paparazzi...etc.

If you choose these lifestyles, then you have to be prepared to accept everything that goes along with it.

Hey Radio--I'll see you in RDU!!! :)

Wow...I'm a "new" fan of UHH and I am trying to find out some more info about the duo, as I like to feel a sense of connection to who I listen to so that I can appreciate the music more and I want to give a HUGE shoutout to `speedy` because your blog is awesome. :) I was also a moderate watcher of The L Word and am quite familiar with Leisha. As far as the comments made by ~slowsoulz~ I find that very ~interesting~ to say the least because, although I have never met either Cam or Leisha, Leisha seems to be of good spirits. Even though it is surprising, I can say that I won't put it past her or anyone for that matter. As many of the other posters said, everyone has their bad days, and we don't truly know how Leisha was feeling that day, what happened with the previous fans (all five of them lol) or even how slowly ~`SLOW`soulz~ was walking lol. What I mean is that so many variables could have effected the way Leisha responded...and maybe she did so without thinking about it. Sometimes I totally react without thinking and then I'm like "OH SH!T, I shouldn't have said or done that!" or maybe she didn't even realize she said it aloud lol. At any token though, I think that an apology should have been issued (if this truly did occur) because although it is understood in certain issues, (i.e. bad days, etc) it is never acceptable--and its also, as we can see, a HUGE heartbreaker :( [gives ~slowsoulz a hug] "I'm sorry for you ill experience" :( ...and for this outrageously long post...

signed,
newbie

I met Leisha and Cam in Nashville this past year. They had been on the road from Texas to TN and were literally just out of their tiny van. They were in a coffee shop (yeah lol) and both were immensely friendly but of course tired. Met them again a couple other times before/after show and very fan friendly. I would assume after all those hours in a cramped van, one would be really grumpy. I didn't find Leisha nor Cam to be like that. They laugh at your jokes, smile for candid photos, even posed in shots with me and my pal. I think a lot of them actually as they were more personable that I imagined. For some reason I didn't even think Leisha would be out and about, but she was vocal, and sweet! Just my encounter. Heck when people kept calling her Alice she was still nice. That would rack my nerves being called a character I play!
