It's no secret that Leisha advertises her gf's clothing line, and is damn proud of it. I must say the clothes are authentically handcrafted and designed with TLC. I visited the FreeCity Supershop in Malibu a few months ago, and I was impressed. It's a small venue with an ecletic array of merchandise not traditional to your mainstream retail stores. I purchased a pair of sweatpants from FreeCity for a price 3x the amount I would normally pay for any pair of pants. But I love them--the material is soft, light and artistically made. Do any of you guys own a FreeCity garment?

No I don't have any but would like to know the website could you post it. Can you order on online? Thanks.
Yeah latin--if you google FreeCity Supershop--It will bring up the website and yes you can order online. The website is a bit odd--but easy to figure out. Let me know if you have trouble finding it and I'll post the url for you.
I'm dying for a freecity tshirt. For all who know me, tshirts of all kinds bombard my closet and drawers. I love TSHIRTS! sadly I went to thier website and that was like $50 a pop for a shirt! If not more! After I get my whole tutition and books paid maybe I'll finally order me one.
Yes, I own three shirts. I am planning to buy one more.
What's the deal with these clothes and why are yall spending all this money for them? The shirts looks like a regular Hanes or Fruit of the Loom Tee with iron-on letters purchased from Hobby Lobby or whatever craft store is in your area. And the store looks like a replica of Sanford and Son junk yard! What's the deal? Am I missing something? please inform.
Nola--I'm whoopin yo azz...lololol. Leave it to you to cause a disturbance..lolol. But it wouldn't be the same without you. But to answer your question--yes it doesn't look like much--but maybe that's the idea...I don't think they want it to look like designer apparel. They're trying to keep it as ordinary looking as possible, but with a different feel to it. Swirl do you go to the shop to buy your shirts or do you order them online?
I bought two shirts from Ron Herman in Las Vegas and one shirt from online.
I forgot that Nina is president or a buyer for the Ron Herman stores. I gotta start purchasing the t's. I wonder if they got a Ron Herman store in da ATL? I got to do some research...
Speedy, don't you think "ordinary" looking T-shirt should have an "ordinary" price? I mean $50, WTF. I'm not here to start no trouble, I'm just trying to understand the FreeCity shuffle!!! LOL. But fa real, the shirt you made for the Uh Huh Her concert looks better than that FreeCity rag! LOL
I visited the shop(online) a few months back but sadly the shirts are out of my price range...I'm just a poor college kid :(
Yeah Nola--my shirt, with the lettering, only cost me 20 bucks. But I agree--everything is over priced--But look where they are---Malibu, CA. Hell everything is overpriced in Calli. California is for ppl with money...must be nice.
i think the pricetag probably comes from the shirts being handmade, rather than in a factory or sweatshop. I do a lot of silkscreen printing by hand, and it's a pretty involving process. It's more about the shirts being "art" rather than a mass-produced commodity. That, plus the fact that people WILL pay that much for it; supply and demand. FreeCity is all over the L Word, which is pretty great advertising; people see their favorite characters wearing these shirts, and are willing to pay a lot to have their own FreeCity shirt. I think it's a combination of these things, and the overall superior quality of the garment, that causes the high price.
Shannon--I needed to hear that, thanks. I was wondering about the dynamics and the processes involved with the manufacturing of this clothing line. Now I understand.
I don't have any. But I want some I can't find them no were in Baltimore are they even up here.
Carmel--where you been homey?
I really wish I could afford to buy a freecity shirt, for one thing, they run in very small sizes and wouldn't fit me, but also, that price tag is just a little too high for me.
kaye, i'm surprised you haven't been stashing away money to buy one of these shirts, i know you love tshirts, one in like every color possible.
They've sent me a tee...nice guys (shiping) they've put a little gigt inside,
Hiya from a Little Country Called Portugal :)
