I just hate to hear that the experience of one person's chance meeting or interaction with a celebrity, that we adore soo much, wasn't a pleasant one. My experience meeting Leisha was both pleasurable and exciting; although she did appear shy. But that doesn't make me love her any less. In fact, I think she's more comfortable with her music than she is with acting...thus making her equally as comfortable with the ppl who adore her music....the fans...imo. Leisha Hailey and Kate Moennig are only human. I can only imagine how many fans throw themselves at them daily, which can take a toll on any celebrity. As a result, they may seem antisocial and standoffish because of it. Read the excerpt below written by Ali Marie on her experience at Dinah this yr....give me your opinion.Ok so I know they're famous in the lesbian world, but what I don't know is why they didn't recognize their fans at The Dinah?? I heard they were the same last year. I mean why even show up. My g/f and I were in the hotel lobby when we heard Dinah security say that Leisha and Camila were outside getting ready to come check in, so what did we do? We did what any other fan would do and went outside to get a picture or two. No one was out there just a few passing by and of coarse security. And /btw, they looked great so then why when we asked for a quick pic they turned us down?? IDK. Then later on at The dinah Leisha and Kate had a scheduled stage performance. Yay I thought.. no they came on stage said "Hey! Everyone having fun? Don't forget your sunblock!" blink-blink, what wher'd they go?? Just like that they were gone! I am not exaggerating! Was that it? That was the stage appearance? C'mon get rowdy with girls kick back have a drink. You are human right? I mean have some fun. The Dinah Shore experience was a real treat minus the 2 disappointments! So there's my thoughts on that!

I think my worst fear about meeting or talking to Leisha again is that she won't be as receptive to her fans as she was when she was on tour. I just don't want to see that side of her. I'd be disappointed and would probably come back and delete this whole blog...lololol.
Ive read many fan experiences with different actresses from The L Word and a lot seem to be along the same line...I've heard that Leisha is always extremely nice whether people come up to her while she's on tour or just in the middle of the street...I've heard the opposite of Kate Moennig...I've heard she's quite standoffish...I dont think I've heard a single nice comment made by a fan who has encountered her. I understand that they are prolly flocked by fans daily, but I dont think it hurts to be polite...which I've heard Leisha Hailey, Laurel Holloman, Erin Daniels and Marlee Matlin pretty much always are. If I run across someone famous and they are polite and nice to me, I like them that much more and support their art by making purchases that much more...I would have the opposite effect if I ran across someone who isnt that kind. It doesnt hurt to be nice to your fans...
heather--I agree considering we are the ones who who pay them-so to speak. They wouldn't be who they are without us...the fans. And you're right--it doesn't hurt to be nice to ppl-especially ppl who adore your art. I'm glad my experience with Leisha was a good one. It makes me love her that much more. This is why I love Will Smith...he's consistently pleasant and nice to all his fans...I believe Leisha is the same way...but she IS shy--and that's ok too.
Yeah I always like someone more when I hear that they are nice to their fans, I didnt know that about Will Smith, that makes me like him even more. Yeah being shy is just fine, I'm a shy person, but you can definitely tell the difference from someone being shy and someone being rude. I hope I can meet Leisha one day...I'm hoping she tours in the Chicago area again since I actually have a ride this time
Ditto ladies, I totally worry about the same things buuuut unfortunately fame & fortune has gone to some stars heads, and of course the fans are the ones to suffer for it. I really don't think that Leisha would be rude or cold to her fans, she seems to be pretty much the most down to earth person in Hollywood. At the concert the whole "no photos while getting autographs" did sound a little diva-esk but I'm sure they had their reasons!!! I dunno tho, I'm sure we'll find out in a little more detail on the next round of tour!
nitabe--I think that was a management decision on the "no photos" mandate. But I still took photos and they didn't seem to mind. I can understand why they wouldn't want any photos--if every fan took a photo of them, it would take up too much time...and fans usually want to take like 5 or 6 photos. It's too time consuming...You really can't blame them, but some fans did get to sneak a photo or two with them..and they were ok with it.
it's important for fans to remember that these people are human; they have good days and bad days. Sometimes you're just not in the mood. I can't imagine what it would be like to have people wanting a piece of you everyday. I'm sure they appreciate it, but surely there have to be times when it gets to be too much. I've actually had three encounters with one of my favorite musicians (billy corgan from smashing pumpkins). The first time I met him was on the street, with not a lot of other fans around. He was very kind and stayed to talk with my friends and me for a while. The second time there were 50 people pushing and shoving; it was very impersonal and he seemed very ready to get out of there. The third time was even better than the first. So if the only encounter I'd had with him had been that second one, I might have thought he was rude and didn't care about his fans. But having met him other times and seeing a different side, I realize that it's all about timing. No one can be open and sweet and happy all the time, and fans shouldn't expect them to be. I've heard a lot of good stories about meetings with Leisha, and I feel confident that's she's probably a really nice girl. People should try to cut her some slack, and perhaps imagine themselves in her place, day in and day out.
Shannon I feel you--oftentimes a fans first encounter with their idol may be their last. I mean how often do we get to see celebrities up close and personal. So first impressions are important to a fan. Most celebs I've encountered were gracious and nice, but when I met Bobby Brown for the first time--he was extremely rude...that left a bad taste in my mouth and I never liked him since. Some celebs are receptive to fans when they are out in public-some are not. Some are more comfortable with their fans when they are performing--some are not. It's a catch 22........it just depends.
Leisha was great in the restroom. I had no complaints. :)
Hey amber---where you been since your bathroom encounter with Leisha?---lololol.
I haven't met very many celebs, actually only met one up close, and that was Gabrielle Christian from South of Nowhere. Gabrielle was very nice and it was actually her fiancee who suggested getting a photo. She even agreed to sign two pictures so I could send one to Kaye.
I think it all depends on where and when fans approach celebs. The person who wrote that said they approached Leisha and Camila right before they were about to check in, meaning they just traveled to the hotel. who knows how long they were traveling or how their trip was. I know I am sometimes not very happy after a trip and just want to lay down and rest for a minute.
I approached Gabrielle at a charity event. She was there with family, but knew there would be fans of SoN who came to the event purely to meet her. She even remembered me the following year.
Again, celebs are human. They make mistakes, they get in bad moods. Hell, who knows, it could have been that time of the month, or soon to be that time of the month.
Well I have meet many celeberity and only one of them was just to sarcastic but I still love her as a person when I meet Aliyah she was nice Mary j was nice, Alicia keys was nice,Rose Rollins is beatiful inside and out,Moniqe was was ok, Merio was very polite,Sisco was shy, etc.
